Sunday, June 3–Fairbanks

While LeRoy went to church, I sat on the riverbank and read.  The church looks interesting and is a designated historic site so I will go with him next time.
Afterward we went to the Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitor Center.

Afterward, we took a short walk along the Chena River beginning at this antler arch.

There were kayaks, rubber rafts, canoes, motorized boats on the river.

No big deal about the parking here right across from the Cultural Center….

but then I saw this….

I have never seen that before.  All over the area there are Welcome Home Troop signs, but apparently not here!
There will be more from Fairbanks, but we came back to Wal Mart when the sky darkened…….so far no rain though.

  1. Some really interesting photos. That antler arch was really something, the part with the skull attached was kind of scary looking. Sometimes the military will put a place off limits for military personnel because of problems there but I have never seen a sign up in front. Hard to tell if they don't want military or military doesn't want them. Interesting.
