Thursday, June 7 – Gold Dredge No. 8

A short train ride took us to the dredge.

They gave us a demonstration of how this drag bucket would work underground

by sending it into this pile of gravel

Now we are coming up to the dredge and here is how it works..

Now we will go to the other side where the fun begins – they are here to welcome us and give us our bag of gold!  We will sit undercover at a trough to pan….really roughing it.
