June 12 - Steese Highway to Central, Alaska

Just a day for sightseeing....no animals.  We planned to go to the end of the paved road at MP 81, but the scenery was great and the unpaved road was well maintained.

First a look down at where we stayed last night...at the back on the left.

The Davidson Ditch carried water 90 miles for gold dredging in central Alaska.  Here's more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Davidson_Ditch

It was time to put the flannel lined jeans, parka and gloves on here!  A few snowflakes were falling and the wind was blowing, but the wildflowers were pretty!

And we were above the tree line.
